The Village of St. Charles is organized by the following departments: DPW, Police, Clerk, Treasurer, Manager, Parks and Recreation, Community Development
The St. Charles police department is housed in the St. Charles Village Office located at 110 W. Spruce Street. The police department employs three full-time officers (including a chief) and four part-time officers to conduct patrol operations and investigate crime within the Village of St. Charles.

The St. Charles Department of Public Works is staffed by four full-time employees- three DPW Crew Members and one DPW Superintendent who is in charge of directing the work of the department including streets maintenance, park maintenance, water/sewer operations and maintenance as well as yard waste pick-up and special projects as assigned by the Village Manager.
What’s with the green lights on the DPW Vehicles?
Green warning lights have been added to all Village of St. Charles municipal vehicles for increased safety on the roadways. It is most important to pay attention to these green lights during winter months while we are plowing snow but these green lights are used while we are operating throughout the village year-round.
