About the Marketplace

The St. Charles Farmers' Marketplace is a community endeavor to connect individuals and families to Fresh, Healthy and Local foods. The Marketplace is governed by a volunteer group of local farming and business experts. The committee includes:

Kathy Rohwetter - Local St. Charles resident who sees the benefit of the farmers’ market as a community and economic development tool and wants to become more involved in the St. Charles Community by connecting market-vending and market-going families to the St. Charles area by bringing them into the farmers’ market.

Rochelle (Shelly) Elliot- Owner of Sweet Creating In-Home Bakery, Shelly has been a vendor at the Marketplace since the beginning. She knows the ins and outs and has gained years of experience in St. Charles and with other markets and events across the state. Shelly is also the Marketplace Coordinator, taking vendor payments, managing logistics, and administering our food access programs every week.

Aileen Cowen- A successful veteran farmers’ market volunteer for both the Saginaw and Hemlock farmers’ markets and the owner of Black Dog Farm in Chesaning where they specialize in heirloom vegetables such as tomatoes grown in hoop houses.
